- The Lee-Enfield No. 5 rifle MK 1 was a shortened version of the Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifle, manufactured and used by the British. Because it was shortened for use in the jungle, it acquired the unofficial name "Jungle Carbine" from some of those who used them. Golden State Arms purchased a large volume of surplus British SMLE MK III's and Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifles
