- Designed mainly for ceremonial use from 1860-1900
- Blade says Francis Bannerman Military Goods, 501 Broadway, New-York and another stamp that says "Germany"
- Right side of blade has initials "ATR"
- The grip is wrapped and wound with brass double-twisted wire
- Pommel cap decorations feature an eagle, national shield, and other leaf designs
- The brass decorated knucklebow has crossed muskets and national shield
- Kidney-shaped counter-guard that is nicely ornamented with a eagle with flags in the background
- Steel scabbard has two brass mounts,brass drag, & brass throat
- The top mount sports two rings while the lower mount has only one
- The brass drag features a bold star on one side and a set of draped flags on the other
- Francis Bannerman is known as the father of the modern day Military surplus store
- Very collectible piece of history
