1700s to Early 1800s Plug Bayonet
- 11 3/8" double edged blade
- 16 3/8" overall length
- More than likely British (European theater usage that could have migrated to the US)
- Heavy piercing style blade tapers from handguard to point
- Raised center spine on both sides
- Brass Hilt / handguard marked "No 16" on blade side
- Well constructed grip/barrel plug
- This bayonet was made for a very large caliber weapon
- Handle diameter is 1"
- Excellent overall condition
- Comes with what is more contemporary sheath, but has been carried by look of usage
